My doctor thinks I can have a disc "pull back" (aka discopexy). He thinks the disc is in good shape, it just won't stay in the proper position. A discopexy would pull the disc back and they suture it in place. This would avoid having to have an implant. chris@bonss.com.cnBONSS MEDICAL, Thanks for Dr. Chi Yang helping us to improve the RF wand for the Temporomandibular joint surgery.TMJ Arthroscopic Disc Repo 2. Introduction The most common temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is the internal derangement (ID) of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which often is accompanied by disc displacement (DD), producing clinical dysfunction and joint pain. TMJ disorders (TMD) have a prevalence of 34% and represent the main non-tooth origin cause of orofacial pain, leading to high morbidity in severe cases (category 3-5 Dimitroulis classification).

The didactic McCain TMJ Surgical Arthroscopy Training Course With Students  During TMJ arthroscopy, your doctor inserts a small thin tube (cannula) into the joint space, and a small camera (arthroscope) is then inserted to view the area and to help determine a diagnosis.

In these patients, total substitution of the TMJ was carried out, using Biomet/Lorenz (Biomet Microfixation Jacksonville, Fl, USA) TMJ prosthesis, following the clinical parameters previously described and using the same 200 mm caliper rule (digimesse brand) as well as a questionnaire to determine the subjective parameters formerly mentioned, from October 2010 to September 2011. Discopexy did not induce significant degenerative changes in the TMJ. With a significant role in tissue regeneration, bioengineering and regenerative medicine will be critical to increase and optimize the current surgical techniques, mostly discectomy. TMJ discectomy TMJ discopexy TMJ imaging TMJ histology TMJ disc abstract Introduction: The role of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery is not well defined due to a lack of quality randomized controlled clinical trials, comparing different TMJ surgical treatments with medical and placebo interventions. In phase 1 the authors investigated the role of the TMJ disc and in phase 2 the authors evaluated 3 different interposal materials. The present work of TEMPOJIMS - phase 1, investigated the effects of bilateral discectomy and discopexy in sheep mastication and rumination.
